Due to some unforeseen obligations later this summer, I won’t be stretching this out like I thought I would!  So here’s what I’m doing:

JUNE 4 – JUNE 8.  Five Days. Fifty Postcards.

Each day, Monday through Friday, I’ll give you all 10 chances to get a postcard.  (Five in the afternoon, five in the evening.)  I’ll give you the instructions on twitter — www.twitter.com/erikburnham — and you’ll tweet me to win!  Afterwards, I will collect your address and drop your postcard in the mail sometime within the next few weeks.

Hi!  As you most likely know if you’re reading this post, I am the writer of the ongoing monthly GHOSTBUSTERS comic book for IDW Publishing.

We’re doing a “Summer Event” called Haunted America, wherein over the next four months (May-August) the Ghostbusters will be visiting four different cities across the continental US.

Dapper Dan Schoening has done a great interlocking series of covers for this arc, and Tristan Jones – in addition to doing a 4-part backup series and doing the B covers for this arc – is working on a sketch cover promotion.  He’s hand-drawing 250 (!) unique covers of issue #9 for comics shops who opted to order them.

Which gave me an idea.  Like Jones, I’m more writer than artist these days, but I’d like to do something to commemorate the event – and to help ring the successful closing of our first year on the Ghostbusters Ongoing.

So here’s the gig: I will be doing (at this point) 28 unique, hand-drawn postcards.  These pieces of art will be sent through the post to whoever wins them.  A little rough around the edges, but hey, definitely a different kind of a thing!

…But how do you win?

There’s the rub!  I’m a mercurial guy.  There will be no one way.  I’ll be giving out instructions via my FACEBOOK FAN PAGE and my TWITTER ACCOUNT.  Be sure to follow me, and watch for instructions (examples: I may ask a trivia question, or for a photo of you in the shop with the latest GB, etc.)  You’ll all get a bit of a heads up before I post those instructions, so don’t worry.
