Welcome to the second of four A-Team previews here at Burnhamania! As previously stated, I got a bunch of preview art from jolly editor TOM WALTZ to share from the A-Team: War Stories from IDW. Again, you shall also have commentary. (;

For our sophomore selection, it’s B.A., with art by Casey Maloney.

This was one of the books I took a lead in scripting — though there was one very big action scene (for the record: true story) suggested by Chuck “I know how things explode” Dixon. That scene made the issue! And now, the art.

Casey, who debuted collaborating with Tom Waltz on Children of the Grave, started out great and got better. Which means, on some level, I stew with jealousy. That level is pretty much right there on the surface. This first page makes ominous a scene of BA working on a truck: kudos, Casey.

This page happens after that action scene I alluded to above. BA’s not happy. And when BA’s not happy, he goes after whatever it is that made him not happy. (Huh. Maybe I should’ve used that line in the script.)

Mission’s over, time for a nice, relaxing round of tattooing. (What? It’s like acupuncture! Well, both use needles, anyway.) Casey got The Van into this shot as well, which pleased me to no end, since Tom shot down my idea of a maxi-series focused solely on The Van. (Hey, it obviously has superpowers.)

To sum up: Me, Maloney, BA, The Van, and a tattoo parlor in a pear tree!

B.A. will be on sale in MARCH from IDW!

Round three continues with FACE!
